Is it Tom Selleck Appreciation Month? No, its MOVEMBER. Movember has taken over from the old November as a month to raise funds and increase awareness of men's health. Here are a few stats on men's health:
1 out of 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime
1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer
A man dies from prostate cancer every 15.6 minutes
97% of prostate cancer occurs in men age 50 years old or older
Prostate cancer is 90% curable- if detected and treated in its early stages
